Why Headfirst?: My life continues to be impacted in countless positive ways by the incredible teachers and coaches I had growing up here in the Washington area. I started Headfirst to give young people the same opportunities that I was fortunate enough to have growing up: to learn how to play with joy, be a great teammate, set and achieve personal goals, overcome obstacles, and to develop their leadership skills. We work year-round to create an environment built on thoughtfulness, teamwork, love and inspiration which enables all of our campers to prosper and enjoy their time in our programs.

Why Headfirst?: I was an Honor Roll camper in December of 2001 — three months after the attacks on the World Trade Center. At camp, Brendan Sullivan and the Headfirst team honored my father and presented him with our family’s first Headfirst jersey. I had only met Brendan a few hours prior, but I knew that the mission of his company would always inspire my personal best. I wake up every day passionate to use our platform to cultivate camper character and confidence.

Maddie loved Headfirst camp. She misses seeing Gomer and all the counselors so please give them a fist bump from her! I was very impressed with how organized your program is, how clean the facility is and how friendly the staff is. I also liked the student to counselor ratio. Every morning, we were greeted with many friendly faces and I knew that the children were safe and well cared for. You run an excellent program! Lauren M.
