Headfirst Science Travel Camp for Girls

Your daughter’s curiosity for science is about to be ignited. Big time. Unforgettable days of interactive activities and experiments, exciting group projects, and day/overnight trips to conservation locations such as the Baltimore National Aquarium and the National Zoo will spark her passion in a way she’s never imagined. Through our new partnership with the founder of Women for Wildlife, not only will campers get the chance to engage in global efforts to save wildlife species from extinction, they will also get to interact with women in the field of science both locally and around the globe. Valuable time with real life role models has the power to shape views on how our campers can impact the world and become tomorrow’s leading scientist. Ultimately, our Girls in Science camp gives girls the confidence to dream big in a future driven by science.

This unique opportunity includes the following highlights:

STEM curriculum experiments

Campers will learn by using their hands as they dive into experiments and exploration that teach them about the ocean, jungle, safari and more! Whether it’s dissecting a squid or testing the pH level of a local urban stream, our campers will learn first-hand the importance of science and most importantly, how they can make an impact.

Spend an unforgettable overnight within the National Aquarium where you will get a private talk with their marine mammal team while you get to know their dolphins, experience 4-D immersion films, walk across the shark catwalk and go behind the scenes at the Dolphin Discovery Lab to name a few things. After sleeping with an underwater dolphin viewing areas, you will wake up in the morning and join the team to wake up the dolphins with an exclusive enrichment session!

One of our favorite parts of this Girls in Science camp is that campers will have the unique opportunity to meet and engage with inspirational women in science.  Whether it’s a local marine biologist teaching them what it’s like to research whale migration patterns, learning about technology from women specialists in engineering, or live video conferencing with a woman wildlife scientist in the field, these experts will light a path towards a bright future for girls in science.

Campers will see science in action as they travel to the local destinations dedicated to using and promoting science every day. Our campers will have the chance to understand how they can impact their community and learn some fun facts too!

TEAM BUILDING FUN & REAL-WORLD Inspiration from girls just like them

In small research teams, girls will work together to gain passion for science through their peers and learn how to make an impact on their community today.  Our campers will hear from girls just like them from around the world that have started conservation efforts to inspire them with the path they have chosen!

Off-site field trips will keep everyone on the move whether it’s behind the scenes sneak peaks of ocean animals at the National Aquarium, connecting to global wildlife conservation efforts around the world or exploring nature through sciences hikes to gather data and learn about our surrounding environment.
