Headfirst Camps operates one of the top summer camp programs in the country. We settle for nothing less than an exceptional supporting cast of teachers, coaches, role models, and positive motivators. In fact, at Headfirst Camps, instead of using the terms “counselor” or “staff” we call our team members PMTs — an acronym for “Positive Motivator & Teacher.” We use the term “Coaches” for our MLB Camp Programs.

Summer camp fun!

To work at Headfirst you must be at least 18 years of age and/or a graduating high school senior. The majority of our PMTs are professionals in the field of education. Prospective PMT applications are accepted year round but the official hiring season begins December 1.

Camp Employment Commitment

To work at one of our summer camp programs Headfirst requires you to meet the following minimum work requirements:

Headfirst Camp Programs – 6-week minimum for current teachers/educators
Headfirst Camp Programs – 8-week minimum for current college students or non-professional educators
MLB Camp Programs – 8-week minimum for all coaches

In addition to the summer commitment, you must attend mandatory staff training sessions that range between 8-20 total hours depending on your position.

Saint Albans
On-site Training, Saturday, June 2, 10 am-3 pm
General Orientation, Tuesday, June 5, 6-10 pm
Day camp staff only- Family Open House, Sunday, June 10, 11:30 am-2:30 pm

Saint Luke
General Orientation, Wednesday, June 6, 6-10 pm
On-site Training, Saturday, June 9, 4-7 pm
Day camp staff only- Family Open House, Sunday, June 17, 1:30-3:30 pm

Mater Dei
General Orientation, Thursday, June 7, 6-10 pm
On-site Training, Saturday June 9, 8:00 am-1:00 pm
Day camp staff only- Family Open House, Sunday, June 10, 2:30-5:30 pm

**FEW exceptions may be made for returning employees or full-time teachers.

Camp was a winning combination of professionalism and organization combined with polite, intelligent counselors. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and the kids. It was easy to drop them off in the morning and know they’d be safe and having fun at camp, even though they didn’t know anyone at the beginning of the week. We’ll be back next year.
