Swim and water play are an important part of the Junior Day Camp experience and are thoughtfully designed with safety and comfort in mind. At select locations, campers participate in instructional swim in small groups led by trained staff, with a focus on water comfort, basic skills, and confidence. For other locations, campers enjoy age-appropriate water play—such as sprinklers and splash activities—that allow them to cool off, have fun, and engage their senses. All water activities are carefully supervised, with individualized attention to help each child feel secure and supported.

Each day at Junior Day Camp follows a predictable, age-appropriate rhythm designed to help young campers feel comfortable and confident. Campers rotate through a mix of active play, creative activities, outdoor time, rest, and snack breaks, with plenty of opportunities to move, explore, and connect with their counselors and peers. While specific activities and timing may vary by group and day, consistent routines help campers know what to expect—making each day feel both exciting and familiar.

Each week of Junior Day Camp includes playful themes and special moments that add extra excitement to the camp experience. From dress-up days to group celebrations and themed activities, these moments help spark imagination, encourage participation, and build community within each group. Weekly themes are designed to enhance the core camp experience—never overwhelm it—so campers feel the joy of something new while still thriving in a familiar, supportive environment.
