Junior Day Camp – Full Day – Oakton

Overview

For many of our Junior Day Campers, we are their first camp experience. So we go above and beyond to make sure both campers and parents feel comfortable – from our friendly carpool drop off, to our daily blog updates and photos, to our highly-trained staff. We work with teachers and child development experts to create a dynamic program that focuses on school readiness, emphasizing fine motor development, following multi-step directions, expanding expressive vocabulary, and promoting persistence, all while offering the best of summer camp! Your child will do everything from arts & crafts to STEM, as well as have the opportunity to make friends and learn skills to increase his or her independence.

Fantastic Beasts Found

During this magical week at Headfirst, campers will explore the mysterious creatures that have echoed throughout legends for thousands of years. Will Headfirst Campers be able to save these mysterious creatures so they don’t become ”mythological”? Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime that just might go up in flames!

Fun at the Fair

State Fairs are so much more than fried food and Ferris Wheels! They bring to life the unique characteristics of each state. You’re invited to join Headfirst as we take a trip to state fairs around the country where you will enjoy delicious state fair food, learn about animals, and practice your game playing skills, all while enjoying the sites and sounds of a State Fair!

Community Yelpers

Whenever there is trouble, Headfirst campers will be there on the double! And there certainly is a lot of mischief going on this week at camp. As campers learn about the community helpers that keep our homes safe and healthy, they’ll work to become their personal best and solve the mission of a lifetime. No problem’s too big and no camper’s too small for this woof of a good time!

There’s Snow Place Like Camp

A winter wonderland is upon us here at Headfirst Summer Camps. Join us as we work together to learn about hibernation and how so many arctic and winter animals show resilience. Will we be able to help Gomer before he’s confused into hibernating as well?!

Headfirst Heroes

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Headfirst campers here to save the day! Experience the whimsy and excitement of Super Heroes through a new lens—Goodness Goggles! Work with Headfirst Super Hero friends to defeat the villain, Pessimism, with new Super Hero powers that all campers can use throughout life.

Welcome to CAMPelot

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all lads and dames to the town square of Headfirst Campelot! Grab ye swords, put on ye helmets, and prepare for battle! Well, a battle of emotions, at least. This week at Headfirst, campers will travel back in time to join the quest of becoming a knight at King Arthur’s round table. We need you or the castle of Headfirst Campelot might just crumble to the ground!

Pond Pals

From tadpoles to swans and lily pads to algae — so many animals and plants call the Headfirst Pond their home. Just like us, these animals and plants grow, develop and change. Join us as we explore, create and learn about the watery wetland world.

Gomer on the Go!

Oh no! Gomer’s stuck on Earth with no way to get back to Gomeria. Join us as we explore all types of transportation and help our dear friend Gomer find his way back home. We are going to need lots of determination to create a way to help Gomer!

Swim

This camp includes instructional swim lessons throughout the week in partnership with nearby Oak Marr RECenter. Headfirst campers will be provided with their own, private section of the Oak Marr pool and will work with Oak Marr’s highly trained life guards and swim instructors on goals that are kid-specific, from jumping into the deep end to side breathing. Your child will be carefully supervised at all times, by both Oak Marr staff and Headfirst counselors, with a 3:1 child-to-staff ratio in the pool.
